One of the wonderful ways to join the Lord Jesus Christ in the work He is doing among homeless women and children, widows, and at-risk inner city youth in Chattanooga is by giving of your treasures, time, and talents. Every gift is cherished and used wisely to glorify the Lord and fulfill the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19-20 and the Lord’s work in James 1:27 among orphans and widows.

We ask our partners and potential partners to prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to lead them in giving joyfully and generously while remembering God’s Word in Proverbs 19:17 that states, ” He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward him for what he has done.”

There are multiple ways you can help Shepherd's Arms Rescue Mission

Cash Donations

Consider becoming a sustainer.  By giving a monthly contribution to SARM you are helping SARM continue its ministry to homeless women and children, widows, and at-risk inner city youth in Chattanooga’s Inner City Area. For convenience, you can use Pay Pal (secure online donation) or mail a check to  Shepherd’s Arms Rescue Mission and mail to Shepherd’s Arms Rescue Mission P. O. Box 16758, Chattanooga, TN 37416.

Securities

Stocks commonly traded on the Stock Exchange that you’ve had for more than 1 year are an excellent way to make either an outright gift or to fund a planned gift.  You may avoid capital gains tax.

Life Insurance

You may have a life insurance policy that you no longer need.  By simply adding SARM among your beneficiaries, or by naming SARM as sole beneficiary, you can provide for the future of SARM and you may receive estate and tax deductions.

Real Estate

SARM accepts gifts of some type of  unencumbered real estate.  Contact (Mary Ann Sanders @ (423) 821-8363 or email us at rescuemis@epbfi.com)  for more information about gifts of real estate.

Charitable Bequest

A charitable bequest allows you to make a gift to SARM through a will or living trust.  Charitable bequests are normally deductible in full for estate tax purposes.  To make a bequest, please use the following language in your will or living trust.

“I hereby give, devise, and bequeath (dollar amount, percentage of estate, or residual) to Shepherd’s Arms Rescue Mission, P. O. Box 16758, Chattanooga, TN  37416 for its general purposes.”

Life Income Gifts

  • Charitable Remainder Trusts:  Charitable Trusts allow you to give a significant gift to SARM while retaining income for oneself or your spouse over a period of time or during your lifetime(s).  There may be significant tax deductions associated with charitable trusts.
  • Charitable Remainder Unitrust: Provides a fluxuating income
  • Charitable Lead Trust: Allows donors to “loan” their gift to SARM and recover the gift principal at a date in the future.
